AZLA

This 15,000 SF facility is the second project executed for a premier post-production sound company whose primary business is voice-over, music dubbing, soundtrack composition and engineering for radio, television and film. As the company’s owner is an avid art lover and organizes art exhibitions as company PR events, the objective of incorporating an environment for art exhibitions into the workplace was carried over from the company’s first facility that we designed with one primary conceptual difference – to fully blur the two program blocks within the function and experience of the facility. The dual premise of workplace and art space in one building envelope continues to provide an interesting hybridized identity of the company. Our process yielded a branding premise and perhaps a new filter for which to examine the company’s work environment in that as long as the work could be done in the place, the place need not be about the work.
